Louisville packs more working distilleries into a few square miles than just about anywhere. Most sit in two walkable clusters downtown — the NuLu / East Market District and Whiskey Row on West Main Street — with a couple more out in Butchertown and Shively. Here's the full map, district by district.
NuLu / East Market District
The most walkable bourbon cluster in the city — a handful of blocks of distilleries, restaurants, and boutique hotels you can move between on foot. If you only have an afternoon, start here.
Louisville Rickhouse

Rabbit Hole Distillery
Bold modern architecture, a rye-forward house style, and rooftop views — one of NuLu's marquee production stops.
Angel's Envy
Bourbon finished in port wine casks, in a converted historic building a short walk toward Main Street. Reservations recommended.
Whiskey Thief Distilling Co.
A straight-from-the-barrel tasting concept — unfiltered pours thieved right from the cask. Quick and characterful.
Heaven's Door — The Last Refuge
Bob Dylan's whiskey brand inside a restored 145-year-old church. More bar and live-music venue than production tour, but a striking spot to end a NuLu crawl.
Whiskey Row (West Main Street)
Louisville's historic “distillery row” — a restored downtown stretch of full production tours, a short ride west of NuLu. Bigger and more theatrical; worth pairing two or three together.
Old Forester Distilling Co.
A working distillery and on-site cooperage on Whiskey Row — you can watch barrels being built and charred.
Michter's Fort Nelson Distillery
A landmark cast-iron building housing Michter's downtown distillery and tasting rooms.
Evan Williams Bourbon Experience
An artisanal-style tour with a recreated 19th-century Louisville streetscape — the most theatrical stop on the Row.
Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co.
A grain-to-bottle, sweet-mash distillery a few blocks north — small-batch rye and bourbon with a deep family history.
Butchertown
Just east of downtown, between NuLu and the river.
Copper & Kings American Brandy Co.
Not bourbon — a brandy and gin distillery with a rooftop bar. A good change of pace on a whiskey-heavy weekend.
Shively & Southwest Louisville
The production side of town — a short drive southwest, where some of bourbon's most historic sites sit.
Stitzel-Weller Distillery
A historic campus tied to the Pappy Van Winkle legacy, now home to Bulleit's visitor experience.
Doing it in a day
Base yourself in NuLu. You can walk between Louisville Rickhouse, Rabbit Hole, Whiskey Thief, and Heaven's Door, with Angel's Envy a short stroll toward Main. When you're ready for the bigger production tours, it's a 5–10 minute rideshare to Whiskey Row for Old Forester, Michter's Fort Nelson, and the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience. Save Butchertown and Shively for a second day or a dedicated trip.
