November 2, 2026 · Louisville Rickhouse · 21+ to taste
If bourbon is why you are in Louisville, give the afternoon an address. Louisville Rickhouse is at 717 E Market St in NuLu. Book a tasting so the time is yours, or walk in for a barrel flight when the bar has room. Then stay on East Market.
The half day that actually fits
Arrive during open hours: Mon–Wed 1–9pm, Thu 10am–8pm, Fri–Sat 10am–9pm, Sun 12–8pm. A guided flight is about 30–45 minutes. The Premium Tasting is $50 per person. The experiences page also lists bar flights from $35. You must be 21 to taste.
There is no rickhouse parking lot. Use paid street parking in NuLu, or get dropped at the door. Directions are in the box below. The building is a government-bonded rickhouse, so you are tasting beside the barrels, not walking a bottling line.
- Book the Premium Tasting if your afternoon has a dinner, a game, or a hotel pickup after it.
- If you are already on East Market and the bar has room, take a walk-in flight instead.
- Stay in NuLu afterward. Our NuLu guide covers the restaurants, bars, and shops on the same street.
- If you want the downtown distillery row, ride to Whiskey Row. Do not try to walk it as one loop with NuLu.
If you have a full Louisville day
Bourbon does not have to be the whole trip. The things to do in Louisville guide on this site points visitors to Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby Museum, the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory, the Muhammad Ali Center, Waterfront Park and the Big Four Bridge, and the Frazier History Museum, which many people use as the Bourbon Trail welcome center. Put the tasting on the NuLu side of that day so you are not crossing town twice.
Match days are the same idea. Lynn Family Stadium is roughly a mile from the rickhouse. A short tasting fits before a ride to a Louisville City FC or Racing Louisville game. The pre-game guide has the neighborhood version of that plan.
What to book if you want more than a flight
The Single Barrel Experience is $150 per person, about an hour, and includes one bottle. Rare and Allocated is $75. Whiskey and chocolate is $50 for four pours and four chocolates. Private groups of 8 or more can request a date instead of joining the public schedule.
Sister labels, if you are collecting bottles after the trip: Nashville Barrel Company is the Nashville distillery from the same founders, and 1 of 1 Bourbon is the personalized-bottle site. The pour in front of you is still the NuLu rickhouse.
